Is Simon Angry about Ellen?

New JudgeSo, Ellen Degeneres is going to replace Paula Abdul on America's most beloved tv show, American Idol. According to Betty Confidential, Simon Cowell is livid over the choice of Ellen as the new judge on the show. That is a complete and utter load of crap if I ever heard one!

According to the unnamed source of dubious reputation,  "He can disagree with Ellen, but he can’t criticize her, like he did with Paula. The audience will crucify him if he attacks her." And, of course, Simon being Simon will hate her for that? What? Do people actually believe that she-ite? Isn't Simon Cowell one of the largest marketing brainiacs in the biz? Doesn't he think that having someone with the tv show following that Paula does would enhance the judge's table rather than make it worse? Can you actually imagine Ellen being that concerned if Simon makes a joke about her? Does someone with her own syndicated tv show really need the American public's help in smashing down her co-jurist at judge's table? Seriously, come on, people- let's wake up to the reality- this is reality tv, not the Olympics.

And, let's be honest, we all love Paula, but Ellen is fricking funny. If you don't think she can tactfully tell someone that their voice sounds like nails scratching on a board while making the American public scream and holler, you have never seen Ellen in action.  I would much rather see Ellen's take on the contestants than Paula's any day. I also resent the fact that it is automatically assumed that Ellen will be the "nice one". I rather picture her as the totally fricking hilarious one.
