I am obviously not an Evangelical Christian and don’t know if most Evangelical Christians tithe each year; if not, they may have a little extra cash to donate to the down-hearted and idiotic among their flock- namely, Stephen Baldwin. You may recognize Stephen Baldwin as the formerly cute Baldwin from "Threesome" or from his exploits in a celebrity episode of “Fear Factor”.
“The Restoration of Stephen Baldwin”, the brain-child of a hardware store owner, is a website to raise money for Stephen Baldwin. The site owner was overly concerned that the Baldwin brother with Christian ties had filed for bankruptcy. Apparently, Stephen Baldwin’s stint on “Celebrity Apprentice” showed the hardware store owner Stephen’s true Christian heart and he instantly became a fan.
Stephen Baldwin is not behind the site, but you will be happy to note that Stephen Baldwin’s spiritual advisor gave “The Restoration of Stephen Baldwin” an A-OK.
If you haven’t taken the time to check out the website - do so immediately. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
Who knows? You may even be inspired to donate to the bankrupt actor who for some reason is unable to borrow money from his incredibly wealthy brothers. There's no word yet on whether or not those feeling charitable will be able to donate by text messaging, but you never know.
The site likens Stephen Baldwin to Job and encourages Christians to donate to the fallen actor. Was Stephen Baldwin really persecuted for his religious beliefs more than anyone else? What about the people who are persecuted daily for their skin color (including our president)?
I don’t have a non-profit, but I am certain I would find a better use for the money than Stephen Baldwin. From what I understand, there are millions of people starving around the world. I highly doubt that Stephen Baldwin is one of them.
I understand that the greater Christian fundamentalist community is probably viewing Stephen Baldwin as the next Kirk Cameron or Mel Gibson, but the reality is that Stephen Baldwin never had quite as much star power as his powerful brothers and probably never will.
If they are searching for a poster-child for their cause, they are going to have to come up with someone better than Stephen Baldwin.
Of course, there is always the possibility that this is a hoax and comments about Stephen Baldwin’s persecution suggest that the web-site might not be above-the-board.
- This sucks for him
- He is such a loser and it’s sad
- It seems like God isn’t watching over him.
