The Swiss government, in defending its decision to release the child rapist Roman Polanski, says the U.S. didn't send them transcripts of testimony by Polanski's original prosecutor that it requested, and maybe there was apparent miscommunication in the extradition proceedings.
The Associated Press reports -- "The Swiss had said from the beginning that their extradition laws allowed Polanski to be sent to the United States only if he was going to be required to serve at least six months in prison. They sought the testimony of original prosecutor Roger Gunson to clarify the matter."
Did the Swiss Government officials think for a second that the US. Government was going through the costly expense of attempting to bring Polanski to justice was for him to serve a few days in the cooler? Come on, Swizz Government officials, you are not fooling anyone.
In the letter to the US Embassy in Bern, explaining the reasons why the Swiss refused to send Polanski back to the U.S. for justice, it is noted that Polanski is a property owner in Gstaad, Switzerland, and thus has "a protected value of trust" with the Swiss.
So, to the Swiss, Polanski's money trumps American justice?
