If you really want to be in The Hunger Games—that is, to fight to the death with 23 other children in a competition designed to entertain rich, privileged people with the spilling of your own blood—good luck with that. I would recommend therapy. A lot of it.
But if you dream of being in the film, you might have the chance. There has been a call for more extras in the movie. Sure, you might not get a big role; you might not even get to speak. But it sure would be a cool experience to be in what’s sure to be one of the biggest films of 2012.
If you have any of the following features, The Hunger Games crew wants you:
· Adults with special or unique facial features (think Venia, Flavius, Octavia…)
· People of all shapes and sizes—and especially with extreme physical or facial characteristics
· Slender, African American teens and adults
· Adults with facial hair
· All ethnic backgrounds of high fashion model types, both male and female
Keep in mind that these will actually not be people of the districts, but of the capital—so if you have a heart and don’t want to pretend you don’t have one, you may not want one of these roles!
Extras will be expected to participate for a few days in August (one to eight days total). If you are interested, you can send your name, photo, age, height, weight, clothing size, phone number, and address to the HG team at artemiscasting@gmail.com.
When you type your message, be sure to put this in your subject line: “Your Gender Your Age,” such as “Female 24.” Filming is going to be in Charlotte, so extras will be expected to drive to the area every day during filming. If you can’t make it, you may not want to apply. Applications without all of this information will not be considered; neither will applicants who have previously applied.
Good luck!
