Why Alex Trebek Kicks Ass
I grew up watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune every night. Despite Ed Grimley's love for Pat Sajack, Pat was way too cheesy for me and Vannah White’s incredible letter-turning skills did absolutely nothing for me. I was, however, slightly in awe of Alex Trebek’s intellect as he kept up with his Cliff Claven doppelganger contestants.
Recently, Time Magazine allowed their readers to ask the genius host their own questions. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he is not only humble and smart, he’s pretty funny as well. When asked which other game show he would like to host, he said he’d pick a new version of Hollywood Squares for no other reason than the host can sit down. That’s a little funny, but he really took me by surprise when he admitted that he had once walked out on stage without his pants in order to shock and theoretically delight three of his Tournament of Champions contestants. Unfortunately, he failed to mention whether or not he went bare-assed or what kind of underwear he was wearing. Personally, I think he’s a boxers kind of guy.
Not surprisingly, Alex Trebek misses Will Ferrell’s impersonations of him on SNL though he admits none of his contestants were as tough as Sean Connery.
