Lindsay Lohan got a big send off befitting a Hollywood princess this morning, Tuesday, to begin her 90-day jail sentence for violating probation in a DUI case. She arrived at the Beverly Hills courthouse in a motorcade, was welcomed by cameras, photographers , reporters, and more cameras, and by fans, one of whom, according to People.com, "threw confetti toward her as she walked up the steps. One fan held a sign reading, 'Free Lindsay.' " The only thing missing was a big marching band. Anyone who thinks Ms. Lohan's career is over had better think again. Unless she continues to do things to harm herself, she could go to the next level, a bigger level. But, first the 24 year old actress has to do her time in lock down, and complete parole, which is scheduled to run until August, 2011.

Paris Hilton is doing what? Keeping herself in the news. Yesterday, Saturday, America's rich, spoiled. party girl was arrested at the airport on the French island of Corsica. She had flown in on a private jet. She was held briefly by police. Sniffer dogs detected marijuana in her purse. She was detained and her purse was search. The police found less than a gram. She was let off with a warning. She was held by the police for a total of thirty minutes. Her arrest made news around the world.

Ms Hilton posted on the TwitLonger site Saturday, "Just to put an end to these rumors. The stories saying I have been arrested are completely false! I am having the best vacation of my life."

There was a hearing in the child custody battle between Mel Gibson and his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. The issue was whether or not Mel Gibson was a danger to his nine month old daughter.

What is it with the UFOs? It seems like they are popping up everywhere. Two UFOs have popped up in China: The first seven days ago over Xiaoshan Airport. This sighting shut the air port down. A second one, yesterday,  in Chongqing in eastern China. The second is reported to really have folks in China worried, and expressing their anxiety. These UFOs were photographed and allegedly captured on radar. Allegedly, because the Chinese government isn't releasing any information about them.

Witnesses to the second sighting told Shanghai Daily they saw "four lantern-like objects forming a diamond shape that hovered over the city's Shaping Park for over an hour."

The Swiss government, in defending its decision to release the child rapist Roman Polanski, says the U.S. didn't send them transcripts of testimony by Polanski's original prosecutor that it requested, and maybe there was apparent miscommunication in the extradition proceedings.

The Associated Press reports -- "The Swiss had said from the beginning that their extradition laws allowed Polanski to be sent to the United States only if he was going to be required to serve at least six months in prison. They sought the testimony of original prosecutor Roger Gunson to clarify the matter."

Whoopi Goldberg is being trashed and wrongly so. She is taking a hit on the Web for allegedly defending Mel Gibson's toxic behavior, which is something that she did not do.

On Monday of this week following the release of the first Mel Gibson audio tape, of him ranting, enraged and cursing his ex-girlfriend, and using the "n" word, Ms. Goldberg did not defend Mel Gibson's behavior or his use of the "n" word. She expressed her opinion, based on personal knowledge and dealing with the man, that he is not a racist. With the release of the second Mel Gibson tape on,  Tuesday, in which he confirms his use of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend, Ms Goldberg referred to Mel Gibson as a jackass, jackassing it, and wondered why the ex-girlfriend waited to go to the police, to report him for physical abuse and for making threats.
